Flourishing Faith : Dealing With Emotional Triggers

Five Tips To Overcome Emotional Triggers

1) Avoid or minimize triggers as much as possible - Make sure to avoid situations or people that may set off triggers. If you can’t avoid them, try to minimize your exposure to them.

2) Practice self-care - Make sure to take care of yourself in all aspects, including physical, emotional, and mental. Take a break from all external distractions. Get enough sleep, eat healthily, exercise, and take part in activities that you enjoy. Read your Bible or listen to it online

.

3 ) Reach out to support - Cast your cares on God. (1 Peter 5:7 ) Talk to someone you

trust and let them know what you’re going through. They can help you stay positive and encourage you to get the help you need.

4) Practice relaxation techniques - Take some time to relax and practice deep breathing and mindfulness. Being mindful helps you to stay grounded and cope with difficult emotions. Writing and Journaling helps with this as well.

5) Seek professional help - If you feel like you can’t manage your triggers on your own, it’s important to reach out to a mental health professional for help. They can help you identify your triggers and learn how to manage them.

Until Next Time,

Flourish
