Flourishing Faith: Community

No person is an island. Regardless of how strong and self-sufficient we are, we all need community. In fact, God divinely designed us to be connected! The Bible even refers to us as members of one body (Romans 12:5). We work together toward a common goal, helping others fulfill their purpose and vice versa. The quality of our community impacts the quality of our lives.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." - Proverbs 27:17

Community is essential to mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Studies have found many benefits of being a supportive community member including reduced stress, increased motivation, and a sense of belonging and purpose. Additionally, a godly community can strengthen faith, offer spiritual support, and improve both the understanding and application of Biblical principles.

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity." - Proverbs 17:17

Finding community is as simple as locating like-minded people and connecting with them. This can be done by joining a local church, creating a book club, enrolling in a class, or volunteering someplace in need of help.
